ACCENT Web Portal

The ACCENT web portal is the main forum for communication within the project, for dissemination of knowledge to users outside the network, and for providing a platform for dialogue between research and society.

The ACCENT web portal makes extensive use of Internet-based techniques to facilitate communication within the atmospheric chemistry community, provide access to information for all and to implement a number of ACCENT activities. The web portal is also an invaluable instrument for training activities and to reach out to policy-makers and the general public.

Information about the ACCENT web-portal
The first version of the ACCENT web-portal was in operation in April 2004. This was a static site, with no dynamic content, and was edited manually. The current, Dynamic Portal is based on a publishing system called FarCry. Although heavily modified with custom functions for ACCENT, the FarCry content management solution provides a wealth of useful tools for administrating this site.

The dynamic site was launched on 28 October, 2004.

Currently, a number of new modules are under development, and the functionality will continuously increase. We encourage all to use the web-portal and watch as it grows!
