Scenarios of Global Anthropogenic Emissions of Air Pollutants and Methane up to 2030
This page contains a report describing global anthropogenic emissions of of sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), and methane (CH4). Emissions have been estimated for two scenarios: the "current legislation" (CLE) and the "maximum technically feasible reduction" (MFR). The 'current Legislation' scenario reflects the current perspectives of individual countries on economic development and takes into account the anticipated effects of presently decided emission control legislation. The 'maximum technically feasible reduction' scenario outlines the scope for emission reduction offered by a full implementation of the best available emission control technologies.
These scenarios were used for the assessment of the effect of emissions of air pollutants and methane on tropospheric ozone and radiative forcing (compare Dentener F., Stevenson D., Cofala J., Mechler R., Amann M., Bergamaschi P., Raes F., Derwent D. Currently the same data set is used for additional simulations within the IPCC-AR4 /ACCENT project.
