First Accent Web Portal Meeting Concluded
The Web Portal meeting took place recently in Leicester, UK. Present were representatives of nearly all the Work Packages.
The purpose of the meeting was to review and train with the new administration tools that have been created for the dynamic portal. These were presented to the assembled work package, or 'topic' administrators by Michael Kobernus, from NILU, Norway.
During the presentation, the first 'glimpse' of the new portal administration application was revealed. Some of the available functionality was then demonstrated during a 'questions and answer' session.
During the following day, the topic administrators learned to create, edit and maintain all the text, links, images and documents that comprise the ACCENT portal.
The first step to converting the static portal to a totally database driven, dynamic application has now been taken, with the porting of much of the original information. This will continue, while at the same time, further development work will take place, based on feedback and suggestions from the meeting attendees.
