Education
Training of scientists is a key issue in many of the ACCENT tasks and subprojects. This task specifically wants to bring attention to the wide scientific issues tackled in ACCENT via education and training, and to provide individuals and/or teams with a diversity of skills and competencies, including new didactical approaches, the use of new learning technologies and the ability for interdisciplinary co-operation.

Interactive Learning Tools in Chinese |

The e-learning environment on global change in ACCENT T&E offers didactical translations of science topics on air quality and climate change for learners and teachers, and suggests direct application in the classroom. Some of the content is now also available in Chinese.

Awareness Seminar in Bangalore, India |

This activity, hosted by the Air Pollution Control Board at Bangalore on 5 - 7 December 2009, aimed at raising awareness for ecology in classroom education at schools. It was organised jointly between ACTS and T&E in ACCENT and offered a discussion platform for
highly ranked officials from both the Government and NGOs and media people.

The focus was on changes in paradigm in atmospheric chemistry with an interest in key policy questions, and changing communication in atmospheric and environmental sciences from journals through to science cafés.
