We would like to bring your attention to a discussion meeting that we are organizing in Porticcio (Island of Corsica, France, http://www.porticcio-corsica.com) from May 14-17, 2012 in the framework of the EU LIFE+ project PhotoPAQ. The emphasis of this discussion meeting will be on urban air quality and its possible improvement by photocatalysis. The meeting aims at bringing together scientists from different fields (atmospheric chemistry, catalysis, photocatalysis), industry and representatives of local governments (e.g., cities, regions…). This discussion meeting is jointly organized by C. George, H. Herrmann, J. Kleffmann and A. Mellouki. The meeting will consist of a few relatively long (30 min) talks, followed by about 15 minutes of discussion. In addition, we will have a poster session where other participants will be able to present their studies. It is currently planned to address topics that cover the general aspects of air pollution, addressing mainly sources from transportation and its processing in the atmosphere and active ways to improve air quality in cities. Registration and abstract submission are now open for that meeting - see at the end of this email. The following the list of the discussion topics, and invited keynote speakers: Urban air pollution
Photocatalysis (basics / physical chemistry)
An industrial perspective
The meeting will take place at Hotel Marina Viva (http://www.marinaviva.fr/) from May 14-17, with scientific sessions starting on the morning of Tuesday May 15th and ending at lunchtime on Thursday May 17th. The size of the meeting is strictly limited to 60 invited participants. We plan to allocate enough time to have intense discussions, for a poster session and some free time in Corsica. A registration fee of about 160 Euros is anticipated in order to cover all costs (including full board accommodation for the duration of the meeting). As the number of participant will be strictly limited, registration will be performed on a "first come, first served" basis. To register please fill the attached form and send it back to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . To submit a contribution, please send a one page (max.) abstract (including title, authors and their affiliations) to This email address is being protected from spambots. We look forward to seeing you in Porticcio, The organizing committee: C. George, H. Herrmann, J. Kleffmann and A. Mellouki. | ||||||
