The Gothenburg Questions

The 'Urbino Questions' were a first attempt to establish a dialogue between the ACCENT scientific community and policy makers. Given the wide appreciation for this exercise, ACCENT now wants to repeat it, in order to give an input to the upcoming revision of the Gothenburg Protocol (2009) and to the revision of the European Commissions Thematic Strategy on Air Pollution, for which a scientific basis should be built until 2011-2012.

Goldschmidt Conference 2009

The Goldschimdt Conference 2009 will be held in Davos (Switzerland) on 21-26 June 2009.This year the conference focuses on past, contemporary and future challenges to the Earth’s resources and environment, with the 20 themes and well over 100 sessions.
Theme 12 of the Conference will be: "Sources, sinks and impact on atmospheric aerosol".

The 18th International Conference on Nucleation & Atmospheric Aerosols will be held in Prague (Czech Republic) on August 10-14, 2009. It will be 40 years since the ICNAA was held jointly in Prague and Vienna as the 7th International Conference on Condensation and Ice Nuclei with scientific topics on physics, physical chemistry and photochemistry of aerosols; methodology of measurement of condensation and ice nuclei; condensation and ice nuclei in the atmosphere and in cloud formation.

New EDGAR data on greenhouse gas emission by country and on grid

We are pleased to inform you that the EDGAR v4.0 greenhouse gas emissions dataset is now available for download at the new EDGAR website hosted by JRC.
EDGAR v4.0 provides insight in annual emissions of greenhouse gas emissions by country, world region, sectors, and on spatial grid in the period 1970-2005.
